Processes of Sediment Generation: Provenance Studies from Modern to Ancient Systems
WGSG related topics are warmly welcomed, including theoretical and applied research; laboratory and field-based studies; as well as technological and methodological advances. Papers may cover analysis of:
Provenance
Exhumation, weathering and erosion
Sediment transport and modification
Deposition and diagenesis
Following the 6th Meeting of the Working Group on Sediment Generation we opened the submission for a paper colletion at the Geological Magazine. The broad scope and diverse range of topics covered by the journal make it an excellent fit for the scientific themes and questions raised during our meeting in London.

The Selected Journal
Geological Magazine is one of the oldest and best-known journals in the earth sciences. Its global circulation, broad scope and commitment to high quality keep the journal at the forefront of the field. It publishes original papers, review articles, rapid communications and discussions about all aspects of the geosciences. It covers a wide range of sub-disciplines in the solid earth geosciences, with emphasis on observational geology, mineralogy and palaeontology. In doing so it provides a niche for interdisciplinary papers on regional geology that can inform our understanding of global geological processes, as well as more wide-ranging studies on the fundamental principles of the earth sciences.
